Micro Grants Program
Are you an established urban grower in New York City? Do you have a project that ten thousand dollars can bring to fruition? If so, you are invited to apply for a micro grant that will bring your urban growing goals to fruition!
Farm School NYC is distributing 10 Micro Grants of $10,000 that can be used to improve your growing space, dive deeper into conservation practices, share information with your community about food and farming, and advance your project through capacity building.
With such a vibrant and ambitious urban growing community, Farm School NYC will need help to sort through applications for feasible and realistic projects - see below for information on the selection committee and what we are looking for in the micro grant applications.

SELECTION COMMITTEE
If you are an urban grower and know what it takes to accomplish a project, we invite you to join the selection committee to read applications and select the 10 awards. Due to the time required to read and score applications, FSNYC offers a humble stipend (at least $1,000) to each selection committee member.
To join the Micro Grant Selection Committee, please see the requirements here and complete the interest form by Sunday, May 18, 2025. There will be no more than 4 - 6 reviewers on the committee.
MICRO GRANT APPLICATIONS
The $10,000 awards will support urban growers in moving their project to the next level. Please see the requirements here to determine if this grant is right for you!
Please complete this form* between July 18 and November 2, 2025. There will be no extensions on the application as they are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in September 2025.

March - June 2026: Awards Disbursed (subject to USDA and project complexity)
March 2026 - June 2027: Award Project Period
January - October 2027: Micro Grant Story Collection + Publication
