Food Justice 101 is an in-person, introductory course where participants will learn how to define and understand food security, food access and food sovereignty. Participants will explore the histories of resistance in the food justice movement and how we can apply those lessons today. Using popular education methods, we will delve into the radical beginnings of community gardens in New York City and visit growing sites to gain a deeper understanding of the food, land, and urban agriculture landscape.
This course is open to land stewards, farmers, educators, gardeners, community members or anyone interested in learning about food justice.
